STADLER Group Develops Textile Recycling Plant for IGERS in Italy
STADLER Group has partnered with IGERS to create Italy's first integrated textile recycling facility, enhancing the country's recycling capabilities.

STADLER Group, a German company specializing in sorting plants, has collaborated with IGERS s.r.l. to develop a new textile recycling plant in San Pietro Mosezzo, Italy. This facility, inaugurated on September 21, 2026, is the first in Italy to encompass all phases of textile recycling, producing high-quality materials from textile waste.

The plant has a processing capacity of 4 tons per hour and is authorized to handle up to 19,200 tonnes of textile waste annually. It integrates advanced sorting technology to ensure traceability and quality in the recycling process, responding to the growing demand for sustainable textile solutions in Europe.

IGERS has patented a comprehensive recycling process that includes sanitizing, sorting, and tearing, addressing the challenges posed by heterogeneous textile waste. The collaboration with STADLER was essential for developing a reliable engineering solution that meets the specific needs of the textile recycling sector.
The sorting line features advanced NIR optical sorters and conveyors designed to optimize material flow and separation efficiency. This flexibility allows IGERS to adapt operations based on varying material streams, supporting the evolving market for recycled textiles.

As the textile recycling industry continues to grow, the San Pietro Mosezzo plant aims to establish itself as a leading platform for industrial and technological advancements in recycling, paving the way for future facilities and improved recovery of textile materials.
