CalRecycle Approves Changes to Carpet Recycling Assessment Structure

CalRecycle has conditionally approved the Carpet America Recovery Effort's (CARE) proposed changes to the carpet recycling assessment structure. However, the approval is contingent upon CARE making necessary revisions before the changes can take effect.

CARE is required to submit a revised proposal by November 13, 2026, to address CalRecycle’s requirements. The new assessment structure is anticipated to be implemented no earlier than April 1, 2027, pending further review and approval from CalRecycle.

Retailers and manufacturers in the carpet industry are advised to review the new levels and begin planning for the upcoming changes.
