Jeanologia Expands EIM System to Yarn and Fabric Production

Jeanologia introduced a new generation of its Environmental Impact Measurement (EIM) system at Kingpins Amsterdam from October 14-15, expanding the technology's reach beyond garment finishing.

This development builds on over 15 years of experience in assessing the environmental impact of denim finishing processes, providing manufacturers and brands with a comprehensive overview of resource usage throughout textile production.

The enhanced EIM system features independent modules for yarn production, fabric manufacturing, and garment finishing, allowing for separate assessments at each stage. A new EIM+ platform consolidates these results for an overall evaluation of the finished product.

By utilizing primary production data, the system measures water and energy consumption, chemical use, and worker impact during garment finishing. Environmental performance is categorized as low, medium, or high impact.

Jeanologia aims to help brands obtain consistent and comparable environmental data from their supply chains by linking information across different manufacturing stages. The structured data can be used in applications such as Digital Product Passports (DPPs) and Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs).

Additionally, Jeanologia showcased a collection called Common Ground, developed with designer Sue Barrett, which explores the relationship between nature and textile design using their laser and G2 ozone technologies.
