Fulgar Advances Bio-Based Fibre Discussion at Performance Days
Italian yarn manufacturer Fulgar emphasizes the potential of bio-based synthetic fibers to lessen the textile industry's reliance on fossil resources during a panel discussion at the Performance Days exhibition in Munich.

Fulgar highlighted the importance of transparency, reliable certification, and competitive pricing for the wider adoption of bio-based synthetic fibers at the recent Performance Days exhibition in Munich, Germany.
During the panel discussion titled "From Fossil to Vegetal: The Promises and Challenges of Biosynthetics," industry experts, including Fulgar's Marketing Manager Daniela Antunes, explored the opportunities and challenges associated with renewable raw materials.

Fulgar's research focuses on next-generation polyamide yarns, including EVO and Q-GEO. EVO is a 100% bio-based yarn made from renewable feedstocks like castor oil and industrial corn, designed to meet contemporary textile performance needs. Q-GEO incorporates nearly 50% bio-based materials and offers enhanced moisture management and durability.
The discussion also addressed broader environmental questions regarding bio-based materials, including the challenges of price premiums, sourcing, and the need for credible certification systems. Fulgar's participation reflects its strategy to develop advanced synthetic yarns that balance functionality and sustainability.
Overall, the panel underscored the necessity for transparent supply chains and economically viable processes to facilitate the broader acceptance of bio-based synthetic fibers in the textile industry.
