The 66th Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) will take place from September 14-16, 2027, in Dornbirn, Austria. The dates have been moved forward by one day to accommodate the ITMA 2027 event in Hanover, Germany, which is scheduled for the same week.

This year marks the first time that these two significant international textile industry events will coincide, allowing delegates to attend both. The Dornbirn GFC will concentrate on fiber innovations, scientific research, and emerging developments, while ITMA will feature the latest in textile and apparel manufacturing technologies.

Five key themes will be highlighted at Dornbirn GFC 2027, including fiber innovations, new material developments, the circular economy, advances in recycling technologies, and protective clothing. The conference aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and industrial applications, fostering collaboration between research institutions and manufacturers.

A call for papers will open in mid-November 2026, inviting submissions from researchers and industry specialists. The focus will be on contributions that demonstrate industrial relevance and promote dialogue between research and industry. Ticket sales will commence at the end of March 2027, and delegates are encouraged to secure accommodations early due to high demand.
