Anderson Tuftex, a premium hardwood and carpet brand of Shaw, has launched The 2027 Floor Forecast, a trend report focused on the residential flooring industry.

The report, developed in collaboration with The Harris Poll, surveyed 512 high net worth homeowners and 251 interior designers about current flooring trends and consumer preferences. The findings indicate a significant increase in homeowners' willingness to invest in durable and high-quality flooring.

Key trends highlighted in the report include a growing preference for durable flooring options, with nearly 70% of homeowners valuing longevity in their flooring choices. Carpet is also making a comeback, with features such as high-traffic durability and pet stain resistance being prioritized.

Color trends show a shift towards warm natural tones in both hardwood and carpet, reflecting a desire for versatile palettes that connect with nature. Sustainability remains a crucial factor, with 60% of homeowners considering it important, although there is a noted gap in understanding sustainable options.

Looking ahead, 65% of interior designers predict an increase in carpet popularity over the next three years, driven by innovations in sustainable and performance-driven materials.
